MADRID (AP) -Spain travels to Poland to defend its European Championship title with Cesc Fabregas fit for its Group C opener against Italy.

Spain says the Barcelona midfielder trained normally with the rest of his teammates Tuesday before the squad travels to its Euro 2012 base in Gniewino, Poland. Forward Jesus Navas was cleared of serious injury after undergoing an X-ray on his right hand, hurt in training. Full back Alvaro Arbeloa trained separately because of a slight neck strain.

Spain, which won Euro 2008 and the 2010 World Cup, opens against Italy on Sunday before facing Ireland and Croatia.
